A month with the Koud team

I had spent over three years working as a customer service representative in my own business when I received an incredible job offer. Koud was looking for an HR person, and I had the opportunity to join this laid-back, professional team. The decision was relatively easy since I had already been following Koud’s growth, its values, and getting to know its employees from the sidelines.

People-oriented work has always been close to my heart. That’s probably why I’ve found myself in roles such as a teacher, tour guide, and in various customer service jobs throughout my career. During the pandemic years, when work was scarce, I decided to try my hand at my dream of becoming a yarn shop owner. This work taught me a lot in many ways, but recently, with the upheaval in the world impacting people’s purchasing behavior, I found the job becoming too heavy for me. It could be said that the opportunity at Koud came at the perfect moment.

I have now worked with the Koud team for almost a month. The work has been motivating, flexible, and inspiring, and I particularly appreciate how here, there is (and will continue to be) a strong focus on caring for the staff and their wellbeing. There is a humane approach to work here. So far, I’ve had the chance to sit in on leadership meetings, attend training sessions, pet the office dog, order snacks and drinks for the vending machine, chat with employees about their progress and wellbeing, and of course, carry out various HR office tasks, like gathering employee information. This team is so lovely that we even spend our free time together, such as playing board games!

A busy and eventful month is almost behind me. I’m eagerly looking forward to what the upcoming months will bring to my desk.
