Imagine this: fresh forest air, sunlight filtering through the trees, and the peacefulness of nature all around. A perfect setting for an IT company’s brand photos, right?
We started collaborating with Creative Crue in the previous year with the goal of refreshing the Koud brand to better reflect our company’s values. First came the new logo, followed by new websites, and soon Koud’s vibrant colors and vibe were visible in football stands and various industry events. Now it was time for more extensive photoshoots, which involved our staff as well. In our brand photos, we wanted to emphasise authenticity, humor, and unique individuals.
Go to the woods!
The photo shoots were planned well in advance, and we shared a detailed shooting plan with our team. Many of our software developers got genuinely excited about the idea! We gathered props, ordered brand t-shirts from the local Kuvatikkaus, and prepared the office for the shoot. It was great to have our remote workers participate as well.
On Friday morning, bright and early, we met up with our photographer, Matias, at the Technopolis lobby, and together, we got started on the shoot! We began with general shots at the office, group settings, and close-ups of our work. After a fulfilling lunch, we headed out to a forest near Kauppi with the photographer to continue the shoot. Many of us joked that it was rare to see developers on a workday team outing into the woods.
In the forest, we took turns sitting on tree stumps, lying on moss-covered ground, leaning against trees, and relaxing on rocks. We encountered a lot of ants (we counted six mounds in one location), breathed in the fresh forest air, dodged branches, and observed the tangled roots beneath our feet. All in all, it was a fun and unique photoshoot day – a very different kind of team activity than our usual app development work. Our office dog, Ika, surely thought this was the best workday ever!
